An interesting transfer rumour appeared this week linking Liverpool with a potential move for Chelsea’s Levi Colwill.
Chelsea have produced some exceptional talent from their academy over the years, including Levi Colwill.
The 20-year-old defender has come into the Blues first-team squad this season. Remarkably, he’s been pretty much a nailed-on starter under Mauricio Pochettino as well.
Now, the England international is receiving transfer links to Premier League rivals Liverpool.

HITC Football reported this week that Liverpool are prepared to test Chelsea’s resolve over Colwill.
If sold, the left-footed defender would raise pure profit on the balance. However, we’re firmly hoping that Liverpool’s interest doesn’t ramp up and that they move their transfer attention elsewhere.
Colwill’s doing his best this campaign to fill in as cover at left-back amid an injury crisis at Stamford Bridge. We’re pretty confident that the central defender’s got a huge future ahead of him in his natural centre-half position, though.
It’s a testament to the Blues academy that Colwill and Conor Gallagher sit top of the pile for the club’s most appearances so far this campaign (26).
Liverpool fans discuss Levi Colwill
Interestingly, plenty of Liverpool fans on social media are saying the same thing about Colwill. The general message from the Reds fanbase is that they don’t want to sign Chelsea’s youngster.
Here are some Liverpool supporters on X discussing the Colwill rumours:
One fan said: “Please no.”
Another claimed: “No thanks. We have [Jarell] Quansah at home who has a much higher ceiling.
A third posted: “Hes a dud. Sign a better one.”
Another said: “He’s not good enough.”
A fifth wrote: “Not a chance, we have moved on & his form at Chelsea is questionable, albeit still learning his trade.”
Another said: “Meh, not as excited by the links as I was last summer. Been playing out of position but hasn’t looked great this season.”
We suspect everyone’s opinion of Colwill will change once he gets a run of starts at centre-back in Chelsea colours!
