Yaya Toure has claimed that Raheem Sterling is one of the three best left wingers currently in world football.

Things have probably not gone as perfectly as Sterling would have hoped when he decided to leave Manchester City for more gametime last summer.

Toure says Sterling is top three left wingers

Despite not being able to show it as much as he would’ve liked this season, it seems his abilities have not been forgotten by legends of the game.

Toure, perhaps with an eye to his days as a City player, said the England international was one of the best three left wingers in the world.

He said: “Three best left wingers? Okay if you go left, Leroy {Sane}, Raheem Sterling, love it, and Sadio Mane.”

A return to training yesterday could put Sterling in contention for a start when the Premier League returns at the weekend when Chelsea face Aston Villa.

With a front three consisting of the Englishman, Joao Felix and Kai Havertz looked extremely bright against Dortmund, however it has not been seen since.

There will be hopes the German international has recovered from illness to be able to feature at the weekend, with him doing a lot of the dirty work to allow his fellow attackers to star.
