Mason Mount has claimed that he’s improved both in and out of possession working under Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
Of course, ex-Blues manager Frank Lampard deserves immense credit for helping the early development of Mount. The 22-year-old enjoyed great success working under him at both Derby County and Chelsea.
However, the attacking midfielder is getting better in 2021 under Tuchel’s guidance at Stamford Bridge.
The in-form star has now scored in three consecutive Premier League matches, which takes his league tally up to six goals and four assists already this season. In addition, Tuchel has said he thinks the England international can contribute even more in the final third.
Mount has given huge praise to the impact the German manager has had on his game.
“For me personally he’s helped me on and off the ball, he’s helped me with confidence,” Mount said.
“And the way I like to play is very similar to his way he sets up and how he wants us to play.
“So I’m loving it, I’m loving every moment and hopefully we can keep winning things.”
Mount does a bit of everything for Chelsea
Naturally, Mount is likely to keep getting better with more experience at the top level and as his body fills out.
It’s noticeable how much he loves working with Tuchel, though. The same could be said about so many in the current Chelsea squad, too.
He’s starting to answer the question marks that surround him when it comes to goal contributions, so he needs to keep on that track to try equal some of the best around.
However, the work he does off the ball is something he’s renowned for. He is so smart when it comes the timing of his pressing, plus he’s got the kind of energy and work rate that very few players possess in the division.
Tuchel’s man-management with him so far has been spot on.
