TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy was left in awe of Wilfried Zaha’s performance for Crystal Palace last night.

The 29-year-old, who was linked with a move to Chelsea over the summer, was untouchable yesterday as his goal completed the Eagles’ comeback win against Wolves.

The display was just a continuation of the fine form the winger has been in this season, with him already notching up four goals in just eight appearances.

The season could have looked very different however if he had made the move across London. Todd Boehly was reportedly very interested in striking a deal for his services.

However, things didn’t come to fruition, leaving Zaha to spend another season with the mid-table side.

Cundy wondered whether his opportunity to play at the top level in England had gone, although he claimed he would certainly fit in at a club like Chelsea.

Cundy amazed by Zaha

He said: ”Can we just have a special mention for Zaha? He was absolutely magnificent. I just wonder has that opportunity for a top four club gone? When he played like tonight, he wouldn’t look out of place in a Spurs shirt or a Chelsea shirt, that kind of player.

“What we’re looking at right now is a player who can have a big impact. Tonight he was magnificent. He is why we watch football, that type of player.”

It has not been reported that the Blues are going to move again for Zaha this summer, with any transfers likely to require approval from Graham Potter.

Rumours have suggested the manager is interested in a reunion with Brighton wide man Leandro Trossard, which would make the Zaha move unlikely.

They are also in the final stages of agreeing a deal to sign Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig, after holding a secret medical this summer.
