Real Madrid star Alvaro Carreras could be the man to replace Marc Cucurella at Chelsea.
Chelsea have just sold Cucurella to Carreras’ current employers, with the 27-year-old joining them in a £52m deal.
It has since been claimed that Chelsea could now look to sign Carreras to fill the hole Cucurella has left following his move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
With that in mind, The Chelsea Chronicle has delved into some stats from both players!

Some of their numbers were quite similar last season. For example, Cucurella made 1.6 tackles per game in the Premier League, according to WhoScored.
As for Carreras, he averaged 1.5 tackles per game in La Liga. For clearances, Cucurella had an average of 2.6, while his compatriot’s figure was 2.1. Defensively, there was not much between the two.
Going forward, they recorded the same number of goal contributions, although Cucurella did play more matches. Real Madrid’s new signing scored one goal and provided four assists, while Carreras netted two times and set up a teammate on three occasions.
Cucurella also registered 1.1 key passes per game, while Carreras recorded one on average. All in all, the numbers suggest that Carreras could be the perfect replacement for Cucurella.
Why shouldn’t Alvaro Carreras replace Marc Cucurella? He looks ideal!
The Real Madrid star is one left-back Chelsea are thought to be considering after Cucurella's exit 💭
Understandably, the Spain international is not the only left-back Chelsea are considering. In fact, Chelsea have reportedly opened talks with Maxi Araujo about a potential move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Blues also have internal options such as Jorrel Hato, while Landon Emenalo could become a first-team left-back in the near future.
Losing Cucurella is a bit of a setback. He is a solid left-back and brought experience to this Chelsea squad, something that it is currently lacking. However, the club can move forward and there are names out there that can help them to do so.
