Chelsea are usually involved in some of the biggest fixtures of the season, and Marc Cucurella has shared that everyone is asking him for tickets to one upcoming match.
The Blues had a giant showdown last Saturday, beating rivals and reigning champions Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League. Enzo Maresca’s side have plenty more major games on the horizon, too.
Marc Cucurella, 27, has been at the heart of the Chelsea team for a sustained period now. The left-back is such a key figure in Maresca’s side, both offensively and defensively, and has featured in all 10 matches so far this season.
Jamie O’Hara’s assessment of Cucurella is that he’s gone from “terrible” to one of the world’s best in his position.

Marc Cucurella claims everyone wants tickets for Chelsea vs Barcelona
On 25 November, Chelsea host Spanish giants Barcelona in the fifth of their eight group matches in this season’s Champions League.
Cucurella, who spent time developing in Barcelona’s academy, has shared his excitement about facing his former club next month. In fact, he’s said that everyone has been asking him for tickets to the European showdown.
The Chelsea full-back told Catalunya Radio, as transcribed by Sport: “It will be a great match. I haven’t played against Barca in many years. I have everyone asking for tickets, and there are still a couple of months to go. The Champions League is a special competition: the atmosphere, the day, everything… I hope we can win.
“I think Barca is a bit of a favourite. We haven’t played in the Champions League for a few years, we have a young team… I’m the second most experienced, and that shows in important moments. Barca has more experience, more Champions League appearances, and is more comfortable in tight moments. But anything can happen in a match.”

Chelsea’s record vs Barcelona in the 21st century
Without a doubt, Chelsea and Barcelona have emerged as European rivals because of some of their memorable clashes in the past 25 years.
Of course, there was plenty of controversy in the 2008-09 season when Barcelona beat Chelsea in the semi-finals. On the flip side, the Blues returned the favour in the 2011-12 campaign when they won the competition, beating Barcelona in the semi-finals en route to the trophy.
Here is a look at every competitive match between them in the 21st century:
| Date | Result | Competition |
| 5 April 2000 | Chelsea 3-1 Barcelona | Champions League |
| 18 April 2000 | Barcelona 5-1 Chelsea | Champions League |
| 23 February 2005 | Barcelona 2-1 Chelsea | Champions League |
| 8 March 2005 | Chelsea 4-2 Barcelona | Champions League |
| 22 February 2006 | Chelsea 1-2 Barcelona | Champions League |
| 7 March 2006 | Barcelona 1-1 Chelsea | Champions League |
| 18 October 2006 | Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona | Champions League |
| 31 October 2006 | Barcelona 2-2 Chelsea | Champions League |
| 28 April 2009 | Barcelona 0-0 Chelsea | Champions League |
| 6 May 2009 | Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona | Champions League |
| 18 April 2012 | Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona | Champions League |
| 24 April 2012 | Barcelona 2-2 Chelsea | Champions League |
| 20 February 2018 | Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona | Champions League |
| 14 March 2018 | Barcelona 3-0 Chelsea | Champions League |
It’s been over seven years since the club last met, so we can’t wait to see what the latest chapter has in store when they meet in November.
