For once, everything went smoothly for Marc Cucurella and Chelsea over the weekend.
They beat Leeds United 1-0 at Wembley to book their place in this year’s FA Cup final, where they will face Manchester City.
Chelsea have absolutely dominated Leeds! What has Calum McFarlane done differently to Liam Rosenior? 🤔
All in all, it was a good day for the Blues. Yet there was something that Cucurella was not quite happy about.
Marc Cucurella had disagreement with Chelsea set-piece coach Bernardo Cueva
Following the full-time whistle at Wembley, Cucurella was seen having a very animated discussion with Chelsea’s set-piece coach Bernardo Cueva.
The pair seemed to be disagreeing about something, with journalist Bobby Vincent sharing video footage of their dispute on X.
Cueva would have been a busy man on the day, as Leeds are a side who cause a lot of problems from set pieces.

It is why interim manager Calum McFarlane decided to drop Jorrel Hato and start Tosin Adarabioyo, who stands at 6’5″.
It was a decision that paid off, with Adarabioyo winning almost all of his aerial duels as Chelsea went on to keep a clean sheet.
Adarabioyo, Cucurella and the rest of Chelsea’s back four as a whole defended well. It should give them all a much-needed confidence boost after a run of disappointing results under Liam Rosenior.
Tosin Adarabioyo gets too much hate!
Had Dominic Calvert-Lewin in his back pocket 💪
How Marc Cucurella has become a bit of a problem for Chelsea this season
A small exchange between a player and a coach is not unheard of and is unlikely to be an issue here. However, it must be said that Cucurella has hurt his own team at times during this campaign.
The defender’s form has not been as good as it was last term, while he was sent off early during Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Fulham at the start of the year.
Cucurella also gave an interview in which he questioned the club’s transfer policy and admitted that Enzo Maresca’s exit had impacted the team in a negative way. Regardless of how true that is, it would not have helped Rosenior.
