Marc Cucurella has given an insight into the one thing Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer doesn’t enjoy doing in training.

Cole Palmer, 22, is without a doubt the shining light in the Chelsea squad. Even during his recent struggles in front of goal, he’s still scored 14 goals and created six assists in the Premier League this season.

It must be a joy for the Blues stars to play alongside the attacking midfielder, who’s carried the team on his back since he joined in the summer of 2023.

Romeo Lavia sees unlimited potential in Palmer after playing alongside him at both Chelsea and the Manchester City academy.

Marc Cucurella shares Chelsea star Cole Palmer doesn’t enjoy the gym

During a Q&A with TNT Sports, Marc Cucurella admitted that Chelsea’s Palmer doesn’t enjoy the gym aspect of training. The Blues left-back did admit that he’d love to steal one aspect of his game and put it into his.

When asked to say something people don’t know about Palmer, Cucurella said: “He doesn’t like to go to the gym.”

Later in the interview, he was asked which one attribute would he take from any Chelsea teammate to add to his game. Cucurella said: “Cole Palmer’s finishing. I think all the people know he scores easy. I think it’s a good attribute.”

Don’t be fooled into thinking Palmer isn’t a brilliant athlete, though. The attacking midfielder, along with Moises Caicedo, has started every Premier League game so far this season.

Maresca recently shared that Palmer topped a Chelsea physical test involving the entire squad, which may surprise plenty of supporters.

Why fans shouldn’t worry too much about Cole Palmer dip

Palmer is going through a huge rut by his own standards, failing to score or assist in his last six consecutive matches across all competitions.

Most importantly, the Blues playmaker is still taking shots and creating chances. Therefore, we feel it’s only a matter of time before he’s rewarded again with a flood of goals and assists.

As shown above, in the statistics, Palmer is still doing a lot of things right in the final third. Mario Melchiot thinks opponents are targeting Palmer because they’re aware of his ability, but not many are preventing him from carving out opportunities.

He scored in Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Southampton earlier in the season, so hopefully he can repeat that on Tuesday night in the reverse fixture.
