It seems as if Marco Palestra to Chelsea is all but confirmed after a comment from the player himself.
Chelsea have finalised a £47 million deal with Atalanta to sign Marco Palestra, with the Italy international currently in London to undergo a medical before signing a long-term contract through 2032.
Xabi Alonso personally intervened Inter Milan’s pursuit to pitch his vision to the defender, who was named Serie A’s Best Defender last season during a standout loan spell at Cagliari.
The manager particularly values Palestra‘s versatility, which allows him to attack and cross cleanly with both feet or move over seamlessly onto the left flank.
Marco Palestra’s first words after agreeing Chelsea move
It may not be much, but Fabrizio Romano has shared a comment from Marco Palestra, where he confirmed he’s joined Chelsea.
“I’m happy to join Chelsea. I’m so happy for this new chapter”.
It was claimed that Palestra will land tonight in London at Heathrow Airport at 11pm. Expected medicals tomorrow morning. Chelsea are pushing to close the deal as soon as possible.
So we should see official confirmation soon.
And then it looks like it will be Maxence Lacroix next on the list for Chelsea.
