Chelsea’s unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end at Stamford Bridge as the Blues were defeated at home by West London rivals Fulham.

The Blues led 1-0 for the vast majority of the afternoon, with Cole Palmer doing his best Eden Hazard impression to weave through defenders and slot home.

The good times didn’t last for the hosts though, with Marco Silva’s side scoring twice in the latter stages, including a last-minute winner to break Chelsea hearts.

Mark Schwarzer tells Robert Sanchez to take responsibility for Chelsea goal conceded vs Fulham

The visitors had actually been on top for large portions of the second half. Robert Sanchez had been forced to make a number of big saves before he was finally beaten.

The Spaniard was actually the orchestrator of the winning goal, with his long, aimless ball being picked off and allowing the visitors to break.

While there was nothing he could do about the finish, there was criticism of his part in the goal.

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer believes Sanchez needs to look at himself and accept responsibility for dropping two points.

He said to BBC Sport: “Robert Sanchez looked to hit a massive diagonal and he doesn’t hit it properly. That enabled Fulham to hit them on the counter & players were caught out of position.

“The goalkeeper has to look at himself, it was a poor clearance.”

Maresca continuing to back Sanchez

Chelsea fans have frequently called for Filip Jorgensen to be handed more than his one Premier League appearance this season.

Maresca was full of praise for Sanchez after their last game against Everton, with him making a number of big saves to keep the game scoreless.

The manager has kept the faith with the Spaniard so far this season, with Jorgensen remaining the cup goalkeeper.

Sanchez will likely stay in the starting side when they are next in action, with them visiting Ipswich on Monday night.
