The Chelsea ownership are the talk of the town again after the nightmare managerial situation continues, although Mason Mount has been full of praise for the first manager they sacked, Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel was in charge of Chelsea for just a few months after Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali took over the club, with his personality not matching what they were looking for in a head coach.
Despite winning the Champions League in 2021 and reaching a number of domestic finals, Boehly in particular was keen to move towards Graham Potter being in charge, which lasted mere months in itself.
What will Xabi Alonso go with if he gets the Chelsea job, a back three or back four? 🧐
Mason Mount describes Thomas Tuchel as ‘amazing’
One of Tuchel’s most important players was Mason Mount, and at the end of that season he was also on the move, making the switch to Manchester United.
The England international has featured under a plethora of managers at Old Trafford too, however it was Tuchel who came to mind when he was discussing those he has worked under.
Mount told the Manchester Evening News that the German and Frank Lampard are amongst those he has learnt the most from.

He said: “I’ve been extremely lucky to play for some amazing managers who have a lot of experience. It is really kind of easy to take things from them.
“Thomas [Tuchel] comes to mind. His amount of experience and big trophies that he won. I learned a lot from him, and Lamps obviously, playing for him at Derby and then also at Chelsea.
“He was an attacking midfielder type, so I learned a lot. Michael [Carrick] coming in now… As a midfielder, I looked up to him when he played. He was an absolute maestro in midfield. Since I was very, very young, I want to learn as much as possible like a sponge.”
Mount has been linked with a move to Coventry City next season, who recently achieved promotion to the Premier League under the leadership of Lampard.
Out of the managers we have been linked with, which one do you think might be able to get the very best out of Cole Palmer again?👀
Chelsea’s ongoing hunt for a new manager
Chelsea are unlikely to name their new permanent manager before the end of the season, with Calum McFarlane set to remain in charge for the rest of the campaign.
Xabi Alonso has emerged as one of the leading candidates to take the Chelsea job, with him out of work since his sacking from Real Madrid this season.
There are a number of Premier League names on the shortlist too. Andoni Iraola is set to be out of his role as Bournemouth manager at the end of this campaign.
Marco Silva and Eddie Howe have also been mentioned as potential candidates, with BlueCo facing a difficult task to get the fans on board by making the right decision.
