Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has hailed Conor Gallagher as a real professional and thinks the midfielder brings so much energy to the team with his running.
Mauricio Pochettino was speaking to Chelsea’s official website, where he discussed the many things he likes about Conor Gallagher.
The Englishman has been a key player for the Blues this season, starting in all eight of their Premier League games so far.
He was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer, with the Daily Mail claiming that Chelsea wanted £45m for him.

Gallagher’s energy and professionalism are just a couple of things Pochettino has highlighted in his recent interview with Chelsea’s club website.
On the 23-year-old, he said: “Conor is a player that can run a lot and I think therefore is massive. He’s a real professional and can play in different positions.
“You can see him playing like a 10, like an 8, a 6. He’s a box-to-box, he can run, he can play and build from [the] back.”

Gallagher really has done a lot of dirty work in Chelsea’s midfield this season. It is no surprise that Pochettino absolutely loves him.
According to WhoScored, the England international is making 3.1 tackles per league game, more than any other Chelsea player.
He is also making 1.9 interceptions per match, which is the second-highest average in Pochettino’s squad.
It is quite obvious that Chelsea were open to letting Gallagher go in the summer. But the midfielder staying at Stamford Bridge has been a bit of a blessing in disguise.
With Gallagher in top form right now and Romeo Lavia currently out injured, the Blues’ season could have been going much worse if he had left west London in the last transfer window.
