Pat Nevin believes Trevoh Chalobah is well ahead of schedule in terms of his development cycle.
Speaking to the Chelsea FanCast, Nevin noted how advanced the young defender is for his age already.
Chalobah has certainly been playing beyond his 23-years since securing a permanent spot at Stamford Bridge.
He was thrust into the fire at the very beginning of last season by Thomas Tuchel.
The centre-back started the UEFA Super Cup final against Villareal, marking his senior debut for the Blues.

Just three days later, he broke his Premier League duct in the home victory over Crystal Palace.
If the afternoon wasn’t good enough already, Chalobah scored as well to seal such a significant moment.
Although he was in and out of the side following that special occasion, the academy graduate still accumulated 30 appearances across all competitions.
Chalobah continues to grow
His forward momentum did not slow down despite Tuchel’s departure and Graham Potter’s introduction in September.
In fact, it’s arguably sped up, with Chalobah starting each of the last ten games for Chelsea.
He might not be the finished article yet, but he’s damn close to completion.
“The one thing about Trevoh, I’m massively excited about him. I think he’s absolutely nailed on stick on. The way he has grown, and I mean physically as well, in a very short time is great,” expressed Nevin.

“He’s 23. Centre-backs usually get to be half decent at about 25, 26, he’s not there yet (age). He’s good enough already and he’s going to become a very, very good player indeed.
“He’s definitely the first choice in that position next to Thiago (Silva).”
Playing alongside such a legendary figure such as Thiago Silva has certainly helped Chalobah.
There aren’t many better teachers in the sport than the experienced Brazilian.
Sharing a dressing room with Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta as well can’t have been a detriment.
The only way is up for Trev right now.
