Mauricio Pochettino has given some positive team news for Chelsea fans ahead of the return to Premier League action tomorrow night against Manchester United.

He said in his pre-match press conference that another defender as well as Malo Gusto would make the squad, however Ben Chilwell would be absent from proceedings.

Gusto limped off at the end of the devastating draw against Burnley at the weekend, threatening to add even more bad news to what was a disappointing afternoon.

Gusto and Chalobah back for Chelsea

While Pochettino stated that he was back in training and ready to be with the squad, he also stated they will be able to welcome back Trevoh Chalobah from his recent injury issues.

He said: “Okay, Trevoh and Malo trained with us and they will be ready to be in the squad. Chilly, no. We didn’t see Chilly from Friday because the doctor and the medical staff removed from his knee a lot of fluid after coming back from the national team.

“Saturday, he got ill and wasn’t [in] Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He is at home trying to recover. Robert Sanchez is training. The rest you have on the website.”

Chalobah missed the first half of the season completely after an injury in pre-season, however returned around February in the face of some big games such as the EFL Cup final.

When will Levi Colwill return from injury?

He actually started to prove he could feature amongst the top defenders at the club, even though reports have linked him with an exit from the club at the end of the season.

Injuries have hit the Blues hard at the back, with Levi Colwill not expected to be back until later this month from his own injury issue. He has joined Wesley Fofana on the treatment table, with the Frenchman not expected back this season.
