Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has responded to a question about the Blues potentially signing Jordan Henderson this month.
Jordan Henderson only left Chelsea‘s rivals Liverpool for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq last summer. However, according to The Sun, the midfielder already wants a return to England.
During his post-match press conference yesterday, where he spoke to football.london and the rest of the English media, Mauricio Pochettino was actually asked if the Blues would be interested in signing the former Liverpool captain.
Chelsea revamped their midfield in the last transfer window, bringing in Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu, but the last two of that trio have had their injury problems this season.
Mauricio Pochettino coy on Jordan Henderson
When asked if Chelsea would be keen on bringing Henderson to Stamford Bridge, Pochettino did not exactly rule it out, telling reporters that he is yet to speak to the club’s owners and sporting directors about any specific names.
In response to the question about the England international, the Argentine said: “To be honest, we didn’t talk about names. At the moment, we are not talking about bringing players. I saw Behdad here in the manager’s room with Paul and Laurence.
“I think tomorrow we are going to have a chat because we will be in the training ground. We didn’t talk about names or talk about position, we didn’t talk to bring players. For now, we are focusing on players like Andrey Santos to see what we are going to do.”

Chelsea unlikely to sign Jordan Henderson this month
Honestly, it would be quite a shock if Chelsea decided to sign Henderson in the January transfer window.
Turning 34 this year, he does not really fit their recruitment policy, while the club do have midfield options when everyone is fit.
The problem is, of course, that has not happened this season. Pochettino has always been without someone from his engine room because of injury.
That, however, does not mean Chelsea should go out and buy Henderson this month.
