Mauricio Pochettino says Chelsea’s owners are disappointed after the Blues’ 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa earlier today.
Chelsea’s poor start to the season continued after Ollie Watkins fired Unai Emery’s side to victory at Stamford Bridge, and Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Todd Boehly and Co are not happy with what they are seeing right now.
Speaking to football.london and other outlets after the Villa game, the Argentine said: “Of course they are disappointed but at the same time they need to support the plan.”

Pochettino’s superiors are right to be annoyed right now. However, some perspective is needed.
Villa are a good side, while Chelsea have a lot of injuries at present. Failing to score against Bournemouth and losing to Nottingham Forest at home, though, is unacceptable. Their squad still should have had enough to do better in those fixtures.
Owners have to take some blame
It would be wrong for Chelsea’s owners to point their fingers solely at Pochettino. They have to look at themselves as well.
Since taking over the club, they have made so many changes, getting rid of experienced players in the squad and replacing them with a bunch of youngsters, many who had not even kicked a ball in the Premier League before joining the Blues.

Simply put, you cannot help but feel that there has been too much change at Chelsea and too quickly, and Pochettino cannot be blamed for that.
Everyone has to take some responsibility here, from the manager and players to the owners.
The season is in its infancy, but it is already starting to look like another one that Boehly is going to have to write off.
