Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking about his transfer plans for the summer.

There could be a lot of activity at Stamford Bridge when the market opens after a difficult season.

Chelsea have not been able to reach their goal of qualifying for the Champions League.

They may not even secure Europa League football, showing just how bad this campaign has been for the Blues.

It will now be interesting to see what they do in the transfer window or what they can do as the club look to avoid breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. In terms of outgoings, Conor Gallagher is one player who could be leaving west London.

What Mauricio Pochettino plans to do with his Chelsea squad

Pochettino could have some big decisions to make ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The Argentine has told Sky Sports that there is going to be a full assessment of Chelsea’s squad and how the campaign went.

When asked if Chelsea’s summer plans could involve bringing in some more experience, Pochettino said: “The most important thing is to go into deep assessment of the squad and the season.

“Then we need to agree on the way to unlock this situation and try to be better next season.”

Who should Mauricio Pochettino decide to get rid of?

If Pochettino does need to trim down his squad or sacrifice players to bring in new signings, Raheem Sterling is one man to possibly move on.

Things have not really worked out for him since he joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022.

Sterling was unable to reach double figures for goals in the Premier League last season and could repeat that this term.

The England international has only scored six top-flight goals in the current campaign. Chelsea fans would have been expecting more from a top forward like him.
