Cole Palmer could be in line to make his first start for Chelsea in a Premier League match.
That is according to his head coach.
Mauricio Pochettino has shared today that he’s already thinking about putting Cole Palmer into his starting line-up next Monday when Chelsea travel to Fulham in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old’s been restricted so far to cameo appearances from the bench in the league, but he was fantastic in midweek when he started for the Blues in their Carabao Cup victory against Brighton.
So, it sounds like the attacking midfielder may have done enough to play himself into the Premier League XI.

Pochettino has indicated in Friday’s press conference that Palmer could start for Chelsea on Monday for the first time in the Premier League.
When asked if Palmer could start versus Fulham, Pochettino said (Football.London): “Yes, maybe yes. I’m so happy with his performance after only a few weeks with us. He was able to perform very well and fit very well in the team. He is a talented player, young talented player but I think he is in my mind to start on Monday.”

It’s a no-brainer for us that Palmer is in the starting line-up against Fulham.
He’s one of the few in the squad right now that looks like they can create in the final third, providing a sublime assist in midweek with his pass to Nicolas Jackson.
There’s nobody really in the Blues side right now pulling up any trees in attack, so Palmer is certainly deserving of a start in the league.
Joe Cole recently compared Palmer with Tottenham’s James Maddison, as quoted by TNT Sports. We’re wondering if Palmer can be the Chelsea creator, just like Maddison at Spurs.
