A lot of the talk of the summer transfer window is revolving around players that actually left Chelsea, either permanently or on loan.
Enzo Maresca has been refreshingly brutal over the futures of a number of players who may well have believed they had a place in the first team on merit.
One player who has suffered from this is Ben Chilwell, with him out of the plans at Stamford Bridge at the moment.
With him being one of the high-profile examples of this, there was a lot of talk surrounding it, although that paled in comparison to how things played out with one of his teammates.
Raheem Sterling was a notable omission from the matchday squad for the first day of the season, with him reacting by putting out a statement which many pundits criticised.

Micah Richards changes mind on Raheem Sterling statement
One of those at the time was Micah Richards, however he has now claimed he can see the thinking behind why he did it.
He said to ‘The Rest is Football’: “You know, I criticised for the way Sterling came out with that statement, I didn’t agree with it at all, but maybe it was a masterclass in thinking, okay, well, he’s available, he’s going to be training with the kids, he probably had two or three clubs sort of ring up, he let everyone know what his position was, and he managed to get out the door in the end, so good luck to him.”
Sterling made the deadline day move to Arsenal, with him spotted in attendance for their draw at the weekend at Brighton.
Jadon Sancho watches Chelsea vs Crystal Palace
In attendance at Stamford Bridge however this weekend was Jadon Sancho, after his own deadline day move saw him make the switch to Chelsea.
Maresca has hinted Sancho could have made the difference against Crystal Palace, with him brought in to help them predominantly against sides who operate in a low block.
He was one of a handful of attacking reinforcements they brought in. Pedro Neto and Joao Felix have also joined the club, however they decided against the big-money move for Victor Osimhen in the final hours of the window.
