Chelsea supporters on social media rightly applauded the efforts of Andreas Christensen for his achievements on the continental scene.
Christensen ensured Denmark became the second European nation to qualify for the World Cup after they defeated Austria 1-0 last night.

Another three points in the bag and another clean sheet added to the 25-year-old’s CV.
The defender has contributed to five consecutive shutouts for Denmark, alongside another four in Chelsea colours this season.
Chris’ clean record
Quite astonishingly, only 11 goals have evaded the centre-back since West Bromwich Albion defeated the Blues in April.
A run of 28 games for club and country with hardly a scratch to show for it.
It is some feat for a player once made surplus to requirements by Frank Lampard.
But the Christensen resurrection continues to cascade through the land and Chelsea fans are all for it.
Here’s how they reacted to the Danes latest accomplishment on Twitter:
Andreas’ awesome revival
Around this time last year, Christensen’s Chelsea career had hit the rocks.
He was sent off against Liverpool, then conceded six in two matches, both in 3-3 draws with West Brom and Southampton.

Across December and January, the centre-half made just one Premier League appearance.
However, his fortunes reversed dramatically after Thomas Tuchel replaced Lampard at the Stadium Bridge helm.
Christensen became a major screw in the tightly turned defence and has bolted down that position ever since.
Yet, one pin in the player’s bonnet remains slightly loose.

At the end of the campaign, Christensen’s contract runs out.
Although there have been plenty of positive remarks regarding a renewal, Chelsea are yet to confirm such an extension.
They will need to tie the Dane down before the next transfer window or risk losing him indefinitely.
