Phil Foden had some extremely kind sentiments to say about Jude Bellingham following the pair’s fantastic World Cup performance yesterday.

Speaking to ITV after England’s excellent 3-0 win over Senegal yesterday, Foden found just the right words to describe his compatriot who is reportedly wanted by Chelsea.

Manchester City’s sparkling attacker and Bellingham were brilliant again in Qatar, as they dazzled and danced their way through to the quarter-final.

Following a frustrating opening 30 minutes, where Senegal carved out two decent chances, Gareth Southgate’s side stepped up their own game.

Applause for Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden

Jordan Henderson put the Three Lions ahead on the 38th minute, finishing off a sweeping move assisted by Bellingham.

Harry Kane then doubled England’s lead on the stroke of half-time, set-up by a powerful drive from the Borussia Dortmund diamond and Foden’s subsequent delicate pass.

Bukayo Saka scored the third after the interval, with Foden turning provider for a second time on the evening.

It was a night for the young guns to light up the international stage; they totally scorched Senegal.

“I don’t want to big him up too much because he’s too young but he’s one of the most gifted players I’ve ever seen,” Foden responded when asked to summarise Bellingham’s display.

“I don’t see a weakness in his game. He’s got everything. He’s going to be the best midfielder in the world, I’m sure.”

Jude Bellingham the World Cup wizard

That’s some praise indeed.

But it is totally justified.

Bellingham stood head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch, despite his fledgling 19-years of age.

It is real no surprise that Chelsea are apparently prepared to pay the big bucks to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Todd Boehly may have to relinquish up to £135m worth to persuade Dortmund to release their prized possession.

He really is worth his weight in gold, however, so very few Chelsea supporters would complain about such a phenomenal fee.
