Chelsea star Conor Gallagher has now emerged as Chelsea’s “most important player” this season.
That is according to Alan Pardew.
Conor Gallagher, 24, has been one of the few individuals to start most games under Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino since his arrival.
The box-to-box midfielder has contributed three goals and six assists in 33 appearances so far this campaign, especially thriving in recent weeks since moving into a No 10 position.
His form means he’d be one of the first names on our team sheet going into Sunday’s Carabao Cup final versus Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.

Pardew has singled out Gallagher as Chelsea’s best player right now, suggesting the rumours about his potential transfer exit is baffling.
“This is a guy still being talked about of maybe going in the summer… He’s like their most important player. He’s covering so much mileage,” Pardew told talkSPORT.
Conor Gallagher Chelsea’s most important player
In our view, Gallagher’s at least in the conversation for this Chelsea team’s most key individual right now.
The England international does bring so much to the Blues line-up both on and off the ball, which is why the academy graduate is a big fan favourite.
Unfortunately, there’s still talk in the media about his future, largely because his contract has entered its final 18 months at Stamford Bridge.
The Athletic claimed earlier this month that Gallagher seems likely to leave Chelsea after this season unless there’s a big turnaround during contract negotiations.
It seems pretty obvious to us that Chelsea need to pull out all the stops to keep the 24-year-old midfielder because we’d expect a considerable backlash from the Blues fanbase if the player’s sold in the summer transfer window.
