Pedro Neto has quickly reminded Chelsea supporters why they should be excited about his arrival.

Chelsea completed the signing of Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers last Sunday, and the winger has been speaking to the club’s media channels following his move.

Neto has discussed several subjects, including where he likes to play, with the 24-year-old able to operate anywhere in the frontline.

He has now shared what his two best attributes are, which really summarise the kind of player the Portuguese attacker is.

Pedro Neto’s strengths

Neto cost Chelsea a lot of money, with the club’s owners paying £54m to bring him in this summer.

However, Neto could prove to be well worth his price tag. The Portugal international is a wide man who can beat defenders with his pace and in one-v-one situations, and he says those are his two best attributes.

When asked if speed was his best attribute in a video that has been shared by Chelsea’s official X account, Neto said: “I would say yeah. The speed with the one against one I would say are both of my best attributes.”

Neto can’t wait to play alongside Cole Palmer, which could happen for the first time this Sunday when Chelsea take on Manchester City in the Premier League.

Pedro Neto’s injury history

All in all, Neto really should prove to be an exciting and effective signing for Chelsea. The only problem is his injury record.

The former Wolves man has picked up quite a few injuries in recent seasons — and not small ones either.

Last term, a couple of hamstring issues restricted Neto to making just 20 appearances in the Premier League. The year before, he only managed 18 because of an ankle problem.

If Neto can stay fit, though, then that is one dangerous winger Enzo Maresca will have at his disposal.

In his own words, Neto is a wide man who possesses speed and the ability to beat defenders in one-v-one situations. The latter is really going to help Chelsea to break down defences at Stamford Bridge this season.
