Chelsea have stepped up their business in this summer transfer window as they put the final touches on their squad for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Over the weekend, Pedro Neto was introduced to the Stamford Bridge crowd as their latest big signing from Wolves, with the hope being that he raises the level of wide players at the club.

The deal was kept mostly in secret, something the key members at Chelsea will likely have been delighted over.

Chelsea fans are massive fans of the addition of Neto, and it remains to be seen if he is in line for his debut for the club when they begin their domestic campaign against Manchester City.

Not everyone is massively convinced it is the best signing for the Blues though, with Roy Keane and Ian Wright disagreeing over his impact.

Keane and Wright disagree about Pedro Neto

The former Arsenal star believes they have made a superb addition in the form of the winger, however Keane believes his history of injuries makes it difficult to get excited by him.

Speaking on ‘Stick to Football’, Wright said: “You know something, you know what is a great signing, Neto to Chelsea.”

Keane swiftly replied with: “He’s always injured! He’s like Shaw.”

Wright doubled down, saying: “Neto if he wasn’t injured. In a chaotic side like Chelsea, I really like Neto.”

The former Manchester United man remained unconvinced, saying: “No, he’s going to add to the chaos. Run everywhere and six months on the treatment table, hamstring injury.”

Reece James injured already

Injuries have been a frequent Achilles heel for Chelsea over the last few years, and they are already being threatened to be affected badly again.

Reece James has picked up a hamstring problem that is currently keeping him out of first team training, although the first team captain was going to miss the opening fixtures anyway due to a suspension.

Neto’s arrival could spark interest in a number of current Chelsea wingers who may see their minutes decreased, with Noni Madueke linked with a move to Newcastle before the end of the month.
