New Manchester United shareholders INEOS are surprised that the club did not try to sign one former Chelsea player.
Chelsea sold Tino Livramento to Southampton back in 2021 and since then, he has gone on to join Newcastle United.
Newcastle signed the defender from Southampton last summer and Manchester United’s new shareholders are surprised that the club did not enter the race for his signature, according to 90min.
Livramento has proven to be a very useful player for Newcastle this season, playing at both right-back and left-back.
He is an individual who Chelsea fans probably wish they had now. The full-back position has been a problem area for the Blues this season, with Ben Chilwell not always managing to stay fit and Reece James currently out injured.

Chelsea do not have to rue letting Tino Livramento go
It would be great if Chelsea were still in possession of Livramento. The fact that he can play at right-back and left-back would have come in handy this season.
However, as far as the right-back position goes, Chelsea look good there, well at least if Reece James can stay fit.
If he cannot, then Mauricio Pochettino has Malo Gusto who has been fantastic for the Blues this season.
ESPN pundit Don Hutchison has actually compared Gusto to his club captain, praising his ability to get forward and cross balls into the box.
Ultimately, the French youngster’s arrival has certainly soften the blow of losing James and is one reason why the club can probably move on from Livramento.
Lewis Hall is another young full-back from Chelsea’s academy who the Blues have let go. Like Livramento, the 19-year-old also made the switch to Newcastle last summer, though he joined straight from Chelsea in a loan move that is set to become permanent.
Both players could have had big parts in Chelsea’s future, but what’s done is done now.
