Nicolas Jackson looks like he is still enjoying playing for Chelsea despite his barren run in front of goal.

Jackson has not scored for Chelsea since December, though he has missed a chunk of matches because of injury.

All five of Jackson’s shots against Ipswich Town last Sunday were off target — a record this season — epitomising his lack of form.

Nevertheless, the striker is still loving life at Chelsea and remains the club’s second-highest goalscorer in the current Premier League campaign.

Nicolas Jackson talks fans, atmosphere and pressure

At a big club like Chelsea, there is a lot of pressure to win games, pressure that this current team are perhaps starting to feel as they continue to drop points.

Jackson, though, likes the pressure that comes with playing for Chelsea. The 23-year-old has also listed Chelsea fans and the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge as reasons for why he is enjoying life in blue.

“The fans and the atmosphere, the pressure to win games and everything, I like that,” Jackson told Sky Sports in a recent interview.

“It’s important for them to win, when you win, so it’s good. I like the pressure because it makes you want to work hard and want to win games for the team. So yeah, it feels good.”

While the goals have dried up for Jackson, Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has still been impressed with the Senegal international.

Hasselbaink spoke about Jackson earlier this month, highlighting the energy that he brings to Enzo Maresca‘s side.

However, if the former Villarreal man wants to remain in this Chelsea team, then he is going to have to start scoring.

Jackson could lose his spot next season, with Chelsea interested in Hugo Ekitike and several other strikers.

Nicolas Jackson sale not ruled out

Despite Jackson’s importance to Chelsea, one journalist is not ruling out the club selling him this summer as they look to bring in a new striker.

While he does not currently have any information to suggest that Jackson will depart west London in the next transfer window, The Telegraph’s Matt Law does not think an exit is impossible.

When Law spoke about Jackson on the London is Blue podcast at the start of the month, he said: “I can see a scenario where if someone came in with a good bid for Nico, they would consider selling him. That is a guess, that is my opinion.”

Chelsea, though, need to be adding to their striker department this summer. It is one of the weakest areas of their squad.
