Nicolas Jackson shares what he was so confident about during Chelsea’s win against Everton

Nicolas Jackson was able to get back to scoring ways over the weekend after netting in Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Everton.

The striker had been on a run of 13 games without a goal, with his last coming in Chelsea‘s 2-1 victory over Brentford back in December.

While Jackson was able to end his drought, Cole Palmer’s has continued after his failure to score against Everton. However, Enzo Maresca was still satisfied with Palmer’s performance.

The most important thing is Chelsea were able to secure a vital three points thanks to Jackson.

Nicolas Jackson confident shot would go in

The likelihood is that a new striker will arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer, but Chelsea still have high hopes for Jackson.

It is not hard to see why, with Jackson having a lot of potential. His goal against Everton on Saturday was his 10th in the Premier League this season, and the 23-year-old was confident that the shot he took would go in.

“I’ve just come back from injury, and I’m getting back to my level,” Jackson was quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official website after the game. “I was confident when I hit the ball and it went in.

“We are confident we can finish in the Champions League spots. As you can see, everyone is fighting for it, it just depends on us and now we just focus on the next one.”

Regarding the new centre-forward who could arrive in the next transfer window to compete against Jackson, the Blues have been linked with several players.

One name that refuses to go away is Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, though landing him will not be easy.

While the 22-year-old can now be signed for just £30m following Ipswich’s relegation to the Championship, 10 other clubs are interested in Delap, so Chelsea face a real transfer tussle for his signature.

Nicolas Jackson’s Premier League record

Jackson’s goal over the weekend means that the Senegal international has now reached double figures in the two Premier League campaigns he has played.

Last term, Jackson netted 14 times in 35 outings, which is really not bad for a debut season in England.

If Chelsea want to return to the top, though, then they are going to need more from the former Villarreal man and the rest of their attackers.
