Mauricio Pochettino has now claimed that he thinks he has a player at Chelsea who has the potential to be one of the best players in the league.

He told The Sun that he believes midfielder Moises Caicedo has all the credentials to be seen as one of the top players in England.

Caicedo has established himself as a crucial player in the Chelsea side in recent weeks, which has been a big step after he endured a rough start to the campaign.

Now though, he and Enzo Fernandez are two of the most important figures on the pitch on a weekly basis.

Pochettino has claimed that a number of circumstances have impacted his start to life at Chelsea, however believes there can be no doubts over just how good he may become.

He said: “Zidane was 26 or 27. I think it took seven or eight months for him to perform because expectation is massive and adaptation is difficult. The pressure is massive.

“Moises didn’t do a pre-season, he had some problems when he was travelling for international duty.

“It’s too many things that delayed the adaptation to the team. Then, all the circumstances delay a little bit to perform.

“But there is no doubt he has the profile to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. We are living in a different era today.”

Caicedo will almost certainly be named in the starting side tonight when the Blues make the trip to face league leaders Liverpool.

There was a very realistic scenario that would have seen the Ecuador international lining up on the other side of this fixture, however Jurgen Klopp was unable to convince the midfielder to have his medical at Anfield late in the summer transfer window.
