Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has shared a positive injury update on Armando Broja following the Blues’ 2-0 win against Fulham last night.

Armando Broja managed to get his name on the scoresheet before he had to be taken off, but Mauricio Pochettino has told Viaplay Fotball that the striker was not injured and was just tired.

The 22-year-old has just returned to action after being out for months because of an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

But he did not show too much signs of rustiness, adding to Mykhailo Mudryk’s first goal for Chelsea to help his side claim all three points.

Speaking about Broja after the game at Craven Cottage, Pochettino said: “No, not injured. Broja was tired because it was his first game in a while.”

It will now be interesting to see who gets the nod to start up front when Chelsea take on Burnley on Saturday, with Nicolas Jackson back from suspension.

Armando Broja should start against Burnley

Broja’s got a bit of momentum right now, so Pochettino should try and take advantage of that and start him again when Chelsea face Vincent Kompany’s side.

Jackson did manage to score in the Blues’ 1-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup, but he was really struggling before that.

The Senegal international has only netted once in the Premier League so far and clearly needs a bit more time to adapt.

With that and all of the above in mind, then, we would not be shocked to see Broja retain his place on Saturday and get a run in the Chelsea team.
