Mauricio Pochettino has given an update now on the fitness of Chelsea captain Reece James after he was forced off early in the game today against Everton.
He told BBC Sport that the 24-year-old had suffered an issue with his hamstring again, leaving many concerned as to the potential lay-off time he may be set to face.
After missing the last two games as a starter for different reasons, there was optimism to see James’ name back amongst the XI selected by Pochettino.

Whether it was a fitness issue or more of a punishment for his foolish red card against Newcastle United, he was only a substitute for the embarrassing defeat to Manchester United.
The appearance this time round though didn’t last too long though, with him being substituted without any real reason being clear.
It was soon reported though that he had suffered an issue with his hamstring, which he has had real problems with before.
Pochettino on James
He has so far elected not to have surgery on it, and it is currently continuing to plague him and ruin what will soon be the prime years of his career.
Pochettino was particularly glum about his prospects when asked for an update after the game.
He said: “Reece James felt something in his hamstring. It’s not so nice for him to suffer another injury. He is an important player.”
It looks certain that the skipper will not be fit for next week’s visit of Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge.
