Pedro Neto has been speaking ahead of the first leg of Chelsea’s Conference League tie against Servette.

Pedro Neto could make his first start for Chelsea following his move from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month.

The winger was only named on the bench for the Blues’ Premier League opener versus Manchester City last weekend, but he did come on in the second half to make his debut.

Darren Bent thinks Neto could start for Arsenal, who finished second in the English top flight last season, showing how highly the pundit rates the 24-year-old.

Pedro Neto idolised Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard, a Chelsea legend, was arguably the best winger in the Premier League during his time in England.

It is no surprise, then, that Neto, a wide man himself, could not get enough of the Belgian when growing up.

Discussing Hazard in Chelsea’s latest matchday programme, with Chelsea’s official website sharing his quotes, Neto said: ‘I always looked to Chelsea as an amazing club. I remember one of my favourite players when I was growing up — Eden Hazard — playing here as well.

“It’s an historic club, with the players we’ve had here. I always looked at Chelsea with big eyes, thinking: ‘What a club’, you know?”

Neto has taken Raheem Sterling’s No.7, which was the shirt number that the Portuguese wore at Wolves.

Chelsea need Pedro Neto to be like Eden Hazard

Hazard was at his best whenever he was cutting in from the left with his right foot.

The left flank is where Neto could play for Chelsea this season, with the Portugal international already getting some game time there against City.

The Blues need him to make the same kind of impact that Hazard used to make there. The likes of Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk have just not done enough on that flank, putting so much pressure on Cole Palmer last term.

It is a bit much to ask Neto to come to Stamford Bridge and replicate the former Belgium international straight away.

But if Neto can just add a bit more productivity on the left-hand side and take some of the pressure off Palmer, then Enzo Maresca will have a really dangerous and balanced attack.
