Pedro Neto has named the former Chelsea star that he used to admire when he was a youngster.
There’s a lot of talented individuals in the current Chelsea squad, including Pedro Neto. The 24-year-old forward is now beginning to really discover his best form after moving to the club from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer.
Theo Walcott admits he would’ve liked Neto at Arsenal because of his pace and quality, but he opted to join the blue side of London.

Pedro Neto recognises Eden Hazard greatness
Chelsea winger Neto, 24, is the latest individual to admit that he used to look up to Eden Hazard.
Hazard, who’s now retired, has gone down in Stamford Bridge history for what he achieved during a seven-year spell with the Blues. The 33-year-old attacker won six trophies with the club, but it was his spectacular individual displays that defined his greatness.
When asked for his Chelsea hero growing up, Neto said via Chelsea’s official website: “Eden Hazard, because of his relevance on the pitch, his way of playing, one against one, his natural positions on the pitch, and the way he dribbles. He was the one I looked up when I watched Chelsea.”
Romeo Lavia wishes he played with Chelsea icon Hazard. Similarly, Cole Palmer agrees Hazard is the Chelsea great he’d love to play alongside.
It puts it into perspective the kind of legacy that the Belgium wizard has left behind when you hear modern players talk about him.
Eden Hazard career did have longevity
Despite retiring in his early thirties, Hazard still enjoyed a stunning individual career. The bulk of his success and fame came as the Chelsea talisman, but people often overlook the fact he was a young sensation in Lille’s team for many years beforehand.
| Team | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Chelsea | 352 | 110 | 85 |
| Lille | 194 | 50 | 53 |
| Real Madrid | 76 | 7 | 12 |
| Belgium national side | 126 | 33 | 36 |
When Hazard left Chelsea in 2019, many fans may have felt they’ll never see another individual for the Blues with as much natural talent at football.
Fortunately, Cole Palmer came along from nowhere last year and has quickly become the club’s new superstar.
