Raheem Sterling’s performances recently in a Chelsea shirt have been impressive.
That is according to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
Raheem Sterling, who’s now in his second season as a Chelsea player, is beginning to impress as one of the senior figures in a young dressing room at Stamford Bridge.
Bizarrely, the 28-year-old continues to be omitted from the England squad by Gareth Southgate.
But the £50million winger (The Guardian) should be pretty happy with his own club form and how he’s playing under Mauricio Pochettino.

Guardiola praise
Man City’s manager is currently preparing his side for tomorrow’s trip to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea in the Premier League.
Guardiola has been particularly impressed by the displays of one upcoming opponent, Sterling.
“He’s playing really good. He’s back in his best moments from what I’ve seen recently. What he did here for us in the early years was really really important,” Guardiola said about Sterling, as quoted by Football.London.
Interestingly, Sterling rank fifth in the all-time list of most appearances as a player under Guardiola. Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson and Ilkay Gundogan are the only ones to play more.
Sterling’s record of 120 goals and 85 assists during 292 games under Guardiola is quite phenomenal.
Raheem Sterling catching form
We’re definitely seeing Sterling get back towards his best this campaign. He looks fit, quick and motivated to lead the way in Mauricio Pochettino’s XI.
Speaking via talkSPORT last month, Martin Keown suggested that Chelsea may be relying too heavily on Sterling right now.
It’s a pretty inexperienced forward line that the Blues are relying on this year to score their goals. Therefore, Sterling should feel the burden of pressure on his shoulders.
He’s scored four goals and made two assists in 13 matches so far this season across all competitions. Next, there’s a league fixture at home to Man City this Sunday afternoon.
