Chelsea’s need for three points feels huge ahead of their fixture against Brighton this weekend. However, former Premier League stars Peter Crouch and Steve Sidwell predict the Blues could have some difficulty at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are winless in their previous two league matches, so the pressure has intensified for Saturday afternoon’s fixture at home to Brighton.
Even though Chelsea beat League One side Lincoln City in midweek during the Carabao Cup tie, it is obvious they are not in the best form right now. Enzo Maresca’s side must be glad to be back at their home after four consecutive away days across all competitions.

As for Brighton under Fabian Hurzeler’s management, they have perhaps been a bit better than their points return suggests in the Premier League so far this campaign. Incidentally, the Seagulls also have two recent 6-0 victories in the Carabao Cup.

Peter Crouch and Steve Sidwell predict Chelsea vs Brighton
Peter Crouch and Steve Sidwell both think Chelsea will drop more points in the upcoming match against Brighton, but they’ve gone for different scorelines.
Crouch said on That Peter Crouch Podcast: “I feel like Brighton can get something out of this. 2-2.”
Meanwhile, Sidwell added: “I think this is going to be a good game at the Bridge… I’m going to say 1-1.”
If the Blues slip up again, the frustration from the fanbase in West London could reach a new level.
Paul Scholes has no sympathy for Chelsea because he claims it was glaringly obvious that they needed to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer. In fairness, the entire backline, including the keeper, needs to sharpen up after a poor couple of weeks.
