Chelsea’s final game before the November international break is a massive showdown against London rivals Arsenal this weekend.

Chelsea play at home on Sunday afternoon against Arsenal in a Premier League fixture.

For the Blues, they’re currently fourth in the division table after a positive start to life under Enzo Maresca. Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has even praised Maresca’s impact at Chelsea in his pre-match press conference.

As for opponents Arsenal, it’s a surprise to many people that they sit fifth in the league because of pre-season expectations that they’d challenge for the title again.

Peter Crouch confidently predicts Chelsea vs Arsenal

Peter Crouch is pretty confident with his prediction that Chelsea will beat Arsenal during Sunday’s meeting at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast, Crouch said: “I’m confident. I fancy Chelsea to win this. It’s a big call because Arsenal, in recent history, have been a much better side than Chelsea.

“I don’t think Arsenal will fall away by any stretch, I just feel like this is the kind of game where Chelsea have nothing to lose really. I think Arsenal are a team that is challenging for the title, Chelsea aren’t quite there yet, probably overachieving from what a lot of people expected. That’s why I feel like players like Cole Palmer can get on the ball and make them tick. I feel like Chelsea win this 2-1.”

Alan Shearer is predicting Chelsea to draw with Arsenal this weekend, which may be a smart guess given their identical league records this season.

Head-to-head record between Chelsea and Arsenal

Unfortunately, Chelsea’s record against neighbours Arsenal has been particularly poor in recent years, so will it be a factor in the next chapter of this rivalry?

Remarkably, the Blues have one win, one draw and six defeats in the previous eight meetings with the Gunners, which have all come in the Premier League.

Gary Neville and Ian Wright disagreed with their prediction for Chelsea versus Arsenal, so it’s an upcoming fixture that is splitting opinion.

It must be frustrating for Maresca that the Blues lost both meetings with Liverpool and Manchester City earlier this season. There’s definitely some pressure building for them to get a result against one of the big boys and put down a marker.
