Stan Collymore has suggested that Chelsea should be pushing to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya this summer.
David Raya, who’s now 27, has just enjoyed another really strong season in the Premier League as Brentford’s No 1.
The Spanish keeper has a lot of quality with the ball at his feet, with a great range of passing and composure. He’s a very athletic shot-stopper, too.
So, could the gloveman get a high-profile transfer away from the Bees in this summer transfer window?

Pundit Stan Collymore is adamant that the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United should be rivalling Tottenham to sign Raya.
The Daily Mail has recently claimed that Chelsea staff do admire Brentford goalkeeper Raya, but the player is set to join Spurs if a transfer fee can be agreed.
Writing in his CaughtOffside column, Collymore said: “Just like Manchester United shouldn’t be starting next season with David De Gea or Dean Henderson in between the sticks, Chelsea shouldn’t be playing with Kepa. Those two clubs, as well as Tottenham Hotspur, all need new number ones.
“I know Daniel Levy is in the process of trying to sign David Raya from Brentford, but while the Bees’ £40m asking price remains a sticking point, why on earth aren’t Chelsea and Manchester United trying their luck? – He’s a good keeper. Not only is he Premier League proven, but he has the qualities all of these teams need – the ability to play out from the back, for example.”

We don’t see a huge difference between Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga and Raya as players, which is why we’re not overly concerned that transfer interest in the Brentford star isn’t hotting up.
However, it would be a different story if Andre Onana or Mike Maignan were on the table.
