Raheem Sterling raved about Cole Palmer to Chelsea’s recruitment staff before they signed him in the summer.
That is according to a report from The Telegraph.
They claim that Chelsea’s recruitment staff reached out to Raheem Sterling in the summer to ask him for his opinion on Cole Palmer.
The English duo played together at the Etihad Stadium. Now, they’ve been reunited as teammates this season at Stamford Bridge.
It is explained that Sterling gave a ‘glowing reference’ to Chelsea when asked about Palmer.
The report says he’s helped him this summer settle in London, too.

Fantastic Chelsea business
Chelsea knew exactly what they were purchasing when they signed Sterling from Man City nearly 18 months ago, the finished article with a phenomenal record in the Premier League. Incidentally, we’re seeing the 28-year-old winger improve now during his second season at the club, stepping forward as one of the few senior figures.
As for Palmer’s signing at the start of the season, Chelsea were taking a bit of a gamble by paying £40million (Sky Sports) for someone with little experience. In fact, he played just 41 first-team games in his career before joining Chelsea, all of them for Man City.
However, it’s now looking like the Blues got picked themselves up a bargain!
It’s no surprise to hear Sterling passed on a positive review of Palmer back in the summer.
Speaking via beIN SPORTS this month, Sterling hailed Palme as a “fantastic” player he’s got on well with dating back to time in Manchester.
Cole Palmer position
One of the main objectives for Chelsea when they’re going through their attacking phases should be to get Palmer on the ball.
The left-footed playmaker has the quality to produce a magical pass or dribble to carve through an opposition.
He can be a real threat starting from the right wing with a licence to drift infield. However, we feel he’s most productive in central areas, mainly in a No 10 position.
It’s down to Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino to work out his best formula.
