Both Argentine and international media were left very impressed with the performance of Chelsea man Enzo Fernandez for his country last night.

The likes of GOAL and TYCSports were full of praise for his display, with him being described as running the show.

Fernandez was named in midfield last night for the World Champions as they lined up opposite from Peru in their quest for qualification to the next edition of the World Cup.

The outing turned out to be another legendary performance from Lionel Messi, who was busy further staking his claim for the Ballon d’Or award.

While the Inter Miami man will rightfully take a lot of the plaudits, it seems national media actually saw another star last night.

Fernandez stars for Argentina

Argentine source TYCSports said: “Good game by Enzo. A lot of contact with the ball, driving the attack that culminated in the first goal. Help from Alexis in the retreat, partner of Messi and Julián up there.”

Meanwhile, GOAL said: “Assisted Messi’s second with a fine cut-back. Ran the game from midfield. A fine showing. 8/10.”

Chelsea will now just be sweating on his fitness following his gruelling international schedule that South American Premier League players are forced to go through.

Both Fernandez and Moises Caicedo have been representing their country over the last few days, with Chelsea’s return to Premier League action coming in just three days’ time.

The test of Arsenal at Stamford Bridge awaits the Blues at the weekend, which will surely bring the biggest challenge of the season for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

To stand any chance, the manager will need all of his best players available, and right at the top of this list is 22-year-old Fernandez.
