Graham Potter has claimed in his post-match interview that he has been impressed by the presence of Marcus Bettinelli at Chelsea.
The 30-year-old is firmly the club’s third goalkeeping option at the moment, with Kepa Arrizabalaga seemingly establishing himself as the number one under the former Brighton manager.
Another stellar performance from the Spaniard helped Chelsea to a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

His sensational form has seen Edouard Mendy not given a chance under the new manager, despite being named the UEFA goalkeeper of the year just over a year ago.
Despite only playing one of the three goalkeepers at his disposal since arriving, Potter has claimed that the influence of Mendy and Bettinelli has been crucial in raising the standards between the sticks.
Potter praises Bettinelli
He said: “I’ve got to say all three goalkeepers we have here have been really good in that regard, supporting each other providing good competition and that keeps everybody’s level up.”
Bettinelli has just one Chelsea appearance since his move from down the road at Fulham.
His display in the FA Cup means he is yet to appear in the Premier League for the Blues, and looks perhaps as far away now from the starting side as he ever has done.

It is unlikely to imagine he will be at the club for too much longer, with Chelsea likely to want to bed Gabriel Slonina into the first team squad soon.
The American has spent this season so far on loan back with Chicago Fire, however is now in England and training at Cobham for the first time.
With him signed for big money considering his young age and inexperience in Europe, the Blues will no doubt be hoping for him to break through soon.
