The top four was completed after Manchester United’s heavy victory over the Blues last night.

United supporters left Old Trafford chanting the name of Mount, who did not travel with the squad up to Manchester.

Injuries have ruled him out numerous times in the last few months, with him even undergoing surgery at one stage.

Mount may not be fit

However, Lampard has claimed that it is a race against time to be fit for the match on Sunday.

He said: “Reece won’t be fit and Mason is going to be really tight.”

Mount is currently strongly expected to be leaving the club at the end of the season, after terms have not been met regarding a new contract.

His current deal expires in summer 2024, and the club will be hoping to get a fee this year in order to avoid losing the sought after star for free.

United are currently leading the interest in the player, off the back of attempts to sign him by manager Erik ten Hag.

It will undoubtedly be an unpopular move amongst the Stamford Bridge faithful if he does leave, with the majority of supporters voicing the opinion that they would like him to stay with them.
