Reece James is out with another injury. The Chelsea Chronicle looks at every setback of his Blues career to date.

James missed the first 11 games of the 2024/25 campaign with a hamstring problem before his return after the October international break.

The Chelsea captain started three consecutive Premier League games, against Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United, and came off the bench against Arsenal a fortnight ago.

But the 24-year-old is now dealing with another injury problem and Enzo Maresca has confirmed that he will miss the Leicester game on Saturday.

The Blues boss does not expect James to be out for a long time but Chelsea fans have heard managers get that wrong many times before.

Reece James’ injury history at Chelsea

James has missed over 120 games throughout his Chelsea career, according to Transfermarkt.

He is under contract until the end of the 2026/2027 season so that figure could easily exceed 150 at this rate.

The only season he missed less than 10 matches was in 2020/21 (nine) under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel.
