Kai Havertz ended a three-year spell at Chelsea by completing a move to Arsenal last night.

After weeks of transfer speculation, Kai Havertz was confirmed on Wednesday evening as Arsenal’s newest signing.

The left-footed attacker has made the move across London in a £65million (BBC) deal, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of reception he receives when he returns to Stamford Bridge in Arsenal colours.

Havertz posted a heartfelt statement on Instagram yesterday reflecting on three years at Chelsea, with the obvious highlight scoring the winning goal in a Champions League final.

There were several farewell message in the comment section from past and present Blues stars, including Reece James.

James replied: “He won us the Champions League.”

Some may feel that letting a player of Havertz’s ability leave will come back to bite us, but it’s fair to say he’s had more than enough opportunities at the club. Unfortunately, the Germany international has been unable to find his top form on a consistent basis.

Now, the 24-year-old will look to fulfil his huge potential in North London.

Ally McCoist recently told talkSPORT that Havertz would be a “great signing” for Arsenal this summer.

We think that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta could get the best from the left-footed playmaker when deploying him as an attacking midfielder. It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how quickly he can gel into his new environment.

Havertz scored 32 goals in 139 Chelsea appearances, so you can’t really blame the club for cashing in for a great sum in this window.

Despite receiving a lot of stick from a section of Blues supporters, Havertz has cemented his spot in the club’s history with the iconic Champions League moment.
