Journalist Eduardo Bargos has claimed that a number of English clubs made an attempt to sign one Chelsea youngster late in the transfer window.
He took to Twitter to state that there were plenty of clubs who were intrigued by the prospect of loaning Andrey Santos, with an option to buy him at the end of the season.
Santos was one of the club’s loanees who actually returned to Stamford Bridge earlier in the transfer window after his spell at Nottingham Forest was not working out.

He had featured for just a few minutes in the Premier League this season, and this is why the Blues were keen to find a solution for his immediate future.
Considering the fact that he is one of the youngsters at the club who they have the most faith in, they were keen to ensure he was back to first team football as soon as possible.
This is why it has emerged that he is on his way to Strasbourg, a club owned by Todd Boehly and co.
Five English clubs bid for Santos
Bargos however has claimed that there were a number of clubs in England who were plotting a deal.
He said: “EXC. Andrey Santos will sign with Strasbourg until the end of the season on loan. Patrick Vieira played a key role in the player’s decision.
“Five clubs in England asked for him on loan plus buy option. Chelsea refused, a key player for the future.”
Santos now has a great opportunity in the second half of the season to show exactly what he is all about.
