Todd Boehly could be about to do a superb piece of business late in the window

The January transfer window has been a quiet affair so far this month for Chelsea, and that is not usually the way that owner Todd Boehly operates.

He has gone out of his way to bankroll the club for both the present and the future in the three windows he has been in charge that preceded this one.

This included smashing their transfer record twice in consecutive windows in 2023, revolutionising their midfield with the additions of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

The duo are now the starting pairing in the middle of the park on a weekly basis, and there is a lot of excitement over the future of the club with them there.

This will make things difficult for anyone else in that position to make their mark, including the plethora of young talent they have signed there.

One who may struggle immediately is Andrey Santos, who returned to Stamford Bridge earlier this month after a dreadful loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

Boehly could pull off great move

Just one Premier League appearance that lasted for mere minutes has perhaps left many to forget just how promising the Brazil international already is.

There were some when he was signed at the club that were actually more excited about the addition of him than the aforementioned huge signing of Fernandez.

Reports today have claimed that he could soon be on the move, with another loan spell on the cards.

However, with the other club being the Boehly-owned Strasbourg this time around, minutes are almost certainly going to be widely available for the youngster.

One player who has already benefited from the feeder club is Angelo Gabriel.

His performances have frequently been impressing current manager Patrick Vieira, and he has found himself picking up accolades such as player of the month during his loan spell.

With Santos’ potential, he could be about to have a serious breakout era in France.
