Reports from Brazil have claimed that attacker Angelo Gabriel will now be part of the Chelsea squad for the upcoming pre-season.

According to Gazeta Esportiva, the forward will join up with the squad as soon as his expected transfer from Santos is completed.

The addition of Angelo is another sign that the club are sticking to the mantra of bringing in young players with the intention of them becoming the first team stars of the future.

One of the most exciting signings of the last 12 months has been Andrey Santos, who has already been capped at senior level for Brazil.

Some at the club are reportedly more pleased with his capture than the club-record addition of Enzo Fernandez that came later in the window.

Pochettino to have Angelo for pre-season

It was claimed yesterday that the midfielder will be part of Pochettino’s plans going into the pre-season tour that awaits the Blues in the United States.

It looks like he will not be the only young star on the tour, with it now being claimed that Angelo will be alongside him.

The upcoming pre-season campaign will be one of the most interesting in recent years, as the Blues looks set to go into a new era under the Argentine.

There have been a number of big names already leaving the club, and everyone is eagerly awaiting the signings that need to be made in order to allow the club to try and compete again next season.

They look set to push hard to bring in Moises Caicedo from Brighton, with them set to up their efforts in the coming days in order to secure the big-money midfielder to partner Enzo Fernandez in midfield.
