Reports have claimed that Mason Mount has just underwent talks with Todd Boehly regarding a new contract with Chelsea.
According to 90min, the informal discussions have been seen as positive between the two parties, with a decision almost certainly going to be made regarding his future this summer.
It has been claimed that there is still a large gap in negotiations between the club and Mount over a potential new deal. His current one has just over 12 months remaining on it.

However, Boehly is reportedly not willing to allow players to enter the final year of their contracts in an attempt to not allow any assets to leave the club for free.

It seemed unfathomable 12 months ago that there could be a future at Stamford Bridge that didn’t involve Mount. He is certainly not short of suitors in the Premier League if he was to move.
One figure that will be hoping his time in West London has not yet come to an end is Mauricio Pochettino, who is preparing to become the next permanent manager starting from next season.

Plenty of reports have stated that the England international is someone the Argentine admires, and will almost certainly be wanting to build his team around if he gets the opportunity.
Mount’s energetic style of play seemingly fits right in for what the 51-year-old likes in his players, and many will be hoping the upcoming announcement that he will be taking over has not come too late to convince him to stay.
There could also be an unexpected future at Stamford Bridge for Romelu Lukaku too, with it being claimed that Pochettino is ready to speak to the Belgian over a potential season in London.
