Nick Candy has reportedly made a fresh offer at the 11th hour to buy Chelsea by increasing his existing bid.
The Telegraph claims Candy’s proposal, which is largely financed from South Korea, has been been improved.
It is understood that the 49-year-old British businessman contacted the Raine Group, the US bank in charge of overseeing Chelsea’s sale, with a new increased offer. He hopes to apply some pressure on them to include him on the shortlist of potential Chelsea buyers.
Candy’s consortium are one of the names heavily linked with the takeover story, and they are still in discussions with other Korean financers about joining their bid. Their latest offer is “significantly over” the £2billion mark.
Apparently, the Raine Group could reportedly make their decision on who will become the next Blues owners by the end of the week. However, the investors that are selected will then need to be approved by the UK government and the Premier League.
Chelsea fan Candy, 49, previously explained his wish to put Blues supporters on the club’s board if his takeover bid is successful.

Chelsea ownership to inherit special group
For certain, a brilliant platform is in place for new ownership to be a success at Stamford Bridge.
Blues supporters are hopeful of a smooth takeover process in the next few weeks, so a new board can get straight to work with their plans for the club.
The players and staff are continuing to deliver amazing results amid the chaos off the pitch involving current owner Roman Abramovich.
Chelsea, led by manager Thomas Tuchel, should be commended for their professionalism.
