Chelsea fan and British businessman Nick Candy is reportedly in discussions with a consortium about joining forces to make a bid to buy Chelsea football club.
According to Sky Sports, Candy is currently in talks with a consortium that consists of Todd Boehly, Jonathan Goldstein and Hansjorg Wyss.
It is explained 49-year-old Candy has the finances to make an offer, but is now reaching out in search of finding a party to complete a possible joint-takeover with.
The report adds that other bidders like the idea of teaming up with him due to the fact he’s a boyhood Blues supporters, as well as that he’s got a background developing property in the capital of England.
Apparently, the Raine Group, the US bank in charge of overseeing Chelsea’s sale, view the consortium led by Boehly and Goldstein as the “most viable” investors. This was shared by a report earlier this week ahead of Friday’s deadline for all buyers to submit their respective bids.
Incidentally, Candy confirmed himself last week his intention to make an offer to buy the Blues.

Chelsea pieces still falling into place
Yes, another potential twist in the takeover saga.
There is another possible combination of new ownership that are throwing their names into the hat to buy the club ahead of Friday’s deadline.
It was extremely concerning a week ago for fans that feared for the existence of the club, but so many investors are stepping forward at the opportunity of buying Chelsea.
Of course, a takeover will need a rubberstamp approval from the government.
