Reports have claimed that Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell is now set to sign a new contract with the club.
According to The Athletic, the England international is about to commit to a new deal that will see him stay with the Blues until at least 2027.
Since returning from injury earlier this year, there has been no one more important to what Chelsea are trying to do than Chilwell.

He has started near enough every game since coming back into the fold, ahead of summer signing Marc Cucurella and impressive youngster Lewis Hall.
His defensive security is complimented brilliantly by his attacking threat, with him often being the most dangerous player going forward for the Blues.
You only need to look at the dismal nature of Chelsea’s loss against Wolves on Saturday to see just how much he is missed when he doesn’t start.
This has been the case under all managers, with Thomas Tuchel previously describing him as ‘brilliant’.
Chilwell set to sign new contract
However, this has come at a time where the club have been severely underperforming, particularly in the Premier League.
With poor performances, there is almost certainly going to be discussions about the top players being linked with moves.
Chilwell has not been exempt from this, with claims that defending champions Manchester City are keen on bringing him in at the end of the season after previous admiration.

Nevertheless, a rare positive for Chelsea supporters this season has arrived, with the 25-year-old reportedly set to commit his future to the club.
He will likely be one of the first names on the teamsheet on Wednesday night when Frank Lampard looks to pick a team to do a job on Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Defeating last year’s winners would give the Blues immense confidence that they can save something from what has been a dire campaign so far.
