Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is expected to meet with Brighton manager Graham Potter over the managerial role at Stamford Bridge, according to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett.
After announcing their decision to sack Thomas Tuchel this morning, the new Chelsea owners did not wait long to make their moves to find a replacement.
Boehly has reportedly scheduled a meeting with one of the top candidates.

“Listen this is big breaking news,” the reporter told Sky Sports (via Football Daily)
“We told you that Graham Potter was top of Chelsea’s list to replace Thomas Tuchel.
“I can now tell you that Chelsea have now been given permission by Brighton to speak to Graham Potter,
“Potter is expected to travel to London immediately to meet with Todd Boehly and other members of the Chelsea board later this afternoon.
“I think you have to presume from that Chelsea have made it clear to Brighton that they are prepared to meet the exit clause within Potter’s contract.”

Chelsea ‘prepared’ to meet Potter’s exit clause
According to an earlier report from journalist Guillem Balague, Potter has a £16million release clause in his contract with Brighton.
That is arguably a relatively low price if, as suggested by Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea owners are convinced that the next manager would be able to get more out of the club’s signings than Tuchel managed to.
Bear in mind, the Blues broke the Premier League transfer record after spending a reported £255.3m (per Deloitte) in the summer transfer window.
